Position:  Inventory Control Assistant

Reporting:Reports directly to the Branch Operations Manager

Purpose:  An inventory control assistant works with the Branch Operations Manager in overseeing and maintaining a proper supply of products and equipment. An inventory control assistant’s job description involves keeping track of all products and supplies, ensuring that stock are organized, assisting on processing deliveries, helping receiving and making inventory adjustments when they are approved by the Branch Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Run production on a daily basis to properly invoice and control recorded inventory of fabricated rebar
• Ensures a full utilization of ASA operating system by the inventory control team
• Schedule and perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
• Reports any discrepancies in inventory records to Branch Operations Manager
• Oversees the receipts of deliveries from vendors
• Reviews shipping and receiving documents for accuracy
• Files all delivery and inventory receipts
• Coordinates with the purchasing department to ensure the accuracy and completion of stock transfers between warehouses
• Uses inventory software to keep track of orders, returns, receipts and inventory adjustments
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure the accuracy of vendor invoices
• Oversees the organization and stocking of the showroom and overflow warehouse
• Oversees the processing of will call and customer pick up orders to ensure they are processed in a timely manner
• Responsible for confirming the accuracy of customer returns, and that the credits are fully processed
• Assists with end of month procedures
• Assists with the organization and execution of year-end inventory and audit
• Assists in devising new ways to reduce shrink and maintain inventory control

Required Education & Experience:

• Demonstrates strong organizational skills
• Is capable of using computer inventory software
• Exhibits ability to read and interpret inventory reports, sales reports, and packing slips
• Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills
• Works well with a team
• Possesses broad knowledge of the range of store products and services
• Is capable of employing basic math skills
• High School diploma/GED required
