Position: Forming/Tilt-Up Project Manager
Reporting: Reports directly to the Detailing/Tilt-Up Manager
Purpose: To provide leadership and guidance necessary to manage Barnsco’s forming department. The Forming/Tilt-Up Project Manager will help to maintain a highly functional department with very competent forming personnel. This position will work with the forming yard foreman to maintain and monitor all employees to provide safe and cost-effective control of the company’s inventory and will ensure all inventory personnel possess and maintain a high level of competence with emphasis on superior customer service. This position must be a strong problem solver with excellent organizational skills and possess the ability to prioritize daily activities and meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate performance consistent with the Barnsco Core Values
- Closely work with yard hands and the foreman to ensure forming operations are efficiently accomplished with the highest level of safety and predictable excellence utilizing Point of Rental and Bistrack operating systems.
- Manage and maintain capacity and resources for the forming department to meet the needs of our customers, internal and external•Interface and cooperate with other departments to promote highest levels of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with management to address and resolve all customer concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with management/staff to formulate and implement policies, procedure, goals and objectives•Work with direct manager to promote safety by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and conducting regular safety briefings with staff
- Assist in establishing annual departmental operating budgets•Assist in managing the preventative maintenance program for all material handling equipment
- Monitoring staff, workflow by working closely with the foreman to report to direct manager for any areas of improvements, changing staff, and procedural changes•Provide reports as requested by management
- Work within several of Barnsco’s software (Point of Rental, Bistrack, OnScreenTakeoff)
- To provide estimates to clients in lieu of forming estimator provided they are off or won’t meet a deadline
- Perform other duties as required by the Detailing Manager
Required Education & Experience:
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• Strong communicator
• Ability to maintain accurate perpetual rental/sale inventory
• Bilingual – English/Spanish (Preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• 1-2 years of rental inventory control experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
