Position:  Assistant Operations Manager

Reporting:   Reports directly to the Branch Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership consistent with the Barnsco Core Values
• Manage the maintenance of a clean, safe workplace and demand immediate reporting of all incidents to safety personnel and HR
• Manage and maintain capacity and resources for Barnsco to meet the needs of our customers, internal and external
• Assist Branch Operations Manager in all aspects of managing the day-to-day operations of the store
• Assist Branch Operations Manager in mentoring and developing all employees to perform at their highest potential
• Assist Branch Operations Manager and Inventory Manager in maintaining accurate inventory levels of all products and supplies, including stock re-ordering by issuance of purchase order or warehouse transfer request
• Assist with the verification and receiving of all purchase orders and warehouse transfers, as well as all shipments made by LTL, FedEx and UPS
• Assist Inventory Manager in conducting spot cycle counts of high-demand inventory to maintain accuracy and consistency
• Assist in researching all inventory shortages/overages to determine cause and make necessary adjustments to inventory levels
• Perform other duties as required by the Branch Operations Manager
• Assist at sales counter as needed

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management
• Associate’s degree in business operations, logistics, mathematics or related field (Preferred)
• Bilingual – English/Spanish (Preferred)
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate failures and root causes to customers
