Delivery Driver

Purpose:  The delivery and pickup of materials/equipment from Barnsco customers and vendors.  To provide an excellent customer service experience for Barnsco customers while providing timely delivery of materials/equipment.  This position requires the knowledge and skills required to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.  This includes DOT pre/post inspections.  A strong understanding of DOT requirements is required.  All candidates must be willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Barnsco Core Values
• Work in a team environment to support other Barnsco employees in providing excellent customer service
• Report any safety incidents immediately to an immediate supervisor or member of management
• Report any unsafe behavior to an immediate supervisor or member of management
• Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods
• Pack and load products onto trucks according to company’s specifications
• Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes
• Chart out appropriate route for delivery on the map or GPS
• Maintain proper knowledge of loaded items
• Maintain ongoing communication with route dispatcher
• Safely provide guidance, support, or assistance in the unloading of goods as per customer specifications
• Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs
• Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer
• Complete logs and reports
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle
• Make sure that speed limits and traffic laws are followed
• Proper use of a personal cell phone, which you will be compensated for
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Must have the adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected traffic and weather conditions
